In 1978, Andre Calitz founded AC HONED TUBE, originally known as Hydrofit Engineering. Driven to succeed, Andre built his first honing machine from scrap metal over a weekend to secure an important order. From these humble beginnings, AC HONED TUBE has expanded into a leading manufacturer, importer and exporter of hydraulic tubing and shafting, now boasting a workshop space of +-15,000 m². With a global footprint, we deliver world-class products and services, including deep hole drilling, skiving & burnishing, induction hardening, chroming, and fine-finished bars.

Through the years we’ve set up a fully equipped workshop where we are able to manufacture chrome shafting up to OD:130mm. Bigger sizes up to OD:500mm can be manufactured on request.
We are still expanding to ensure that we can meet our customer’s expectations and more.
AC GROUP of COMPANIES are situated in Alrode South, Alberton on a +/- 23,000 m² property with +/- 15,000 m² under roof, consisting of 12 bays with 17 overhead cranes up to 20 Ton capacity.
